Nepal is playing its third game in the SAFF U-20 Championship being held in Bhubaneswar, India. Nepal is going to play against the home team India today. The match between Nepal and India will start at 7:30 pm at Kalinga Stadium. Nepalese youth team performed well in the first two matches.
Nepal defeated Maldives 4–0 in the first match and 3–0 to Sri Lanka in the second match. After scoring seven goals in two matches, Nepal are yet to score a single goal. Kritish Ratna Chunju and Mangya Nakami have scored two goals for the Nepalese team, who have been in excellent form in the competition. Captain Ayush Ghalan, Dipesh Gurung and Sugam Suwal scored a goal each.
Nepal’s coach Meghraj KC, who came out with the intention of winning the tournament title, has said that he will focus on every match. Now Nepal has to play against Bangladesh and India in the tournament. Both the matches are the real test for Nepal.
Because India is being considered as a strong contender for the tournament. The Indian team, who have been practicing together for a long time, will also get the advantage of the home ground.
Bangladesh have also won three matches at the start of the tournament. After defeating Sri Lanka in the first match, Bangladesh registered a sensational victory over home team India in the second match. Bangladesh defeated Maldives in the third match.
India defeated Sri Lanka 4–0 in their second match. Today’s match is crucial in India’s journey to the final as the top two teams from the group have qualified for the final.
